Hi all! As some of you may already know this February Tony was injured at work. His right foot and leg were crushed after the ground gave way and he fell into a sinkhole.
As a result of that crush injury, he was later diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a debilitating permanent nerve damage syndrome, of which there is no cure or definitive treatment. The CRPS has left him unable to use his right foot. He is in constant pain, cannot walk well, and cannot drive.
As a young, very active father of two small daughters this has been a devastating diagnosis and life changing for our family.
After months of seeing multiple doctors and specialists, we are turning to this fundraiser to help cover the cost of a vehicle modification (left accelerator pedal) and other adaptive equipment and expenses not covered by insurance. Tony will need these to be able to walk better and use his left foot to drive.
If you know him, you know that this would greatly help Tony. This would give him back a small sense of independence, and get him out of the house, if only to take a short ride. This all would help his mental well being and quality of life as we continue to seek treatments and physical therapy.
This has been a long road so far and will continue to be as we navigate this new disability for him.
We thank you all for your help and consideration.
From Stacy Romasco (wife) and the Romasco and Maynard families
