Fundraiser for the Redford Family
The sudden loss of Chad "Dallas" Redford has left a gaping hole in the lives of those that loved him. Shelli has found herself a widow with three children. This was not expected. With Shelli still recovering from COVID herself, the family needs time to grieve and heal before they can start adjusting to their new situation. Shelli is self-employed and unable to work while she focuses on taking care of her family. Your support will provide them breathing room during this difficult time and ensure that the kids are taken care of and supported as they move forward.
Below is a timeline for those that are interested:
Shelli was unknowingly exposed to COVID at the end of June. She had tested after notification and received negative results. When symptoms continued to get worse, she tested again and was confirmed positive. By this time, Chad and Seth were also exposed. Shelli was experiencing severe symptoms, but was qualified to receive Monoclonal Antibodies, which improved her symptoms overnight and put her on the slow road to recovery. Chad was diagnosed with COVID-19 shortly after and also received Monoclonal Antibodies on July 12. Since the antibodies had been a gamechanger for Shelli, we had all prayed it would make a world of difference for him as well. While he started to improve, progress was slow.
On Sunday, July 18, Chad appeared to have developed a blood clot in his leg. He went to Texas Health Harris Downtown to the Emergency Room. After evaluation, he was admitted for treatment for the clot and COVID-pneumonia. On Monday, additional testing showed that Chad had a pulmonary embolism. His treatments continued and improvements were being made. Chad's nurses loved having him on the floor and were happy to see the progress he was making during his stay. By Tuesday, there was discussion of discharging him the next day. Chad was on the phone with Shelli Tuesday morning, when he got out of bed and collapsed. The nurses and medical team spared no effort on resuscitation efforts to no avail.
Shelli, Jacob, Seth and Olivia were able to say their final goodbyes to Chad/"Dallas" at the hospital. They are still reeling from everything that happened.
