Fundraiser for the Khans

As you may know, Hira and Danial's father, Urooj Khan, suffered from a stroke while traveling overseas. He's currently in a hospital in Dubai, and the bills for the Khans will be piling up.

 

In Hira's words: "My dad is a one of kind Desi father. He is our best friend, our biggest cheerleader, and no matter how much grief we've given him over the years, he continues to stand by us every single day. He has always challenged us, protected us, and made our lives a truly fulfilling experience. I could not have been luckier.

But not only is he a great father to my brother, sister, and me, he is a mentor to kids and young adults who need guidance and support, he's created programs to inspire and build confidence in middle schoolers who have autism while running his business, and he has been a leader in every community we've ever lived in and we've moved a lot!

He is incredibly active, always running around working on some new exciting project. He is charming, friendly, wise, and always positive. He is my rock."

 

Urooj has impacted so many beyond his family. He is a constant force of positivity, a pillar of strength for the Greater Austin Muslim Community, and never ceases to persist in fighting for what's right regardless of the cost.

 

He is currently in the ICU in Dubai, unable to move the left side of his body, see well, or swallow. He has not been able to sit up, speak fully, or walk since the stroke happened. The priority right now is to get him back home so his family can provide the best care possible for him. We will try to keep everyone updated on this page.
