Fundraiser for the Cottage Stillroom Fire
Donation protected
On the afternoon of October 15 shortly before 6:00 pm my dear friend and owner of the Cottage Stillroom found her shop and factory fully engulfed in a massive fire that would gut her beloved factory and send her to the hospital with burns.
The factory, once home to Caskie Paper, a Tobacco Company dated from the 1800s. The building which she loved and spent the last plus year renovating so she could open her shop, only to have it lost to fire only two weeks after her reopening is a loss.
The adjoining building housed my studio for over 15 years, and was a place where my friends and I shared our hearts, souls, triumphs and losses of loved ones. It will always be my first studio home. It was also the Home of Will's Peachtree studio, who's beautiful photography in my opinion rivaled Ansel Adams.
Some of my work was lost in the fire but it pales in comparison to the loss of my friends life's work. Over the next week's as they recover from this devestating loss they will need money for food, insurance, medical bills related to Didi's injuries and Will's ongoing health issues.
