Fundraiser for The Cassidy’s

Hello everyone

This page has been created to raise money for Victoria, Jack and Emily to make more memories and tick some things off the bucket list due to the horrible disease that is cancer. 

We are holding a fundraising afternoon at Newcastle Labour Club from 12pm onwards on Sunday 22nd May 2022 with all proceeds being gifted to Victoria, Jack and Emily.

A little background on Victoria’s cancer journey to date: 

She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in August 2020 which also spread to her right-sided lymph nodes, just before Emily’s (her daughter) first birthday not long after returning to work following maternity leave to work front line within the NHS. 

She then got the devastating news at the beginning of December 2020 that her gruelling 5 months of chemotherapy hadn’t worked. 

She had surgery at the beginning of January 2021 which was a lumpectomy and a full lymph node clearance. 

On 19th January 2021, Victoria was given the all clear and told she was cancer free! 

During Summer 2021, Victoria was feeling unwell and undertook tests. We then received the devastating news that her cancer had returned. It has recurred in her breast, and had also spread to her chest wall, neck lymph nodes, lung, bones including rib cage, pelvis and spine. She started an intense cycle of chemotherapy straight away. 

Despite best efforts from the treatment, she was becoming more unwell and was too unwell for her chemotherapy where she had further tests and scans. 

In January 2022, we were crushed by the heartbreaking news that her cancer has metastasised to her brain with multiple mets at a large size. She instantly underwent full brain radiotherapy but despite best efforts from the team, she has been given a terminal illness with months left. 

Victoria and Jack had to bring their wedding forward by 9 months and got married on Saturday 26th February 2022. 

Through all of the crushing and heart wrenching news, Victoria has remained positive and continues to battle this horrible disease with a smile on her face. 

She has the biggest heart and through all of this has put others before herself, it is now our turn to give back to her.
