Hello, my name is Samuel and I’m raising funds on behalf of a school I volunteered at in Tanzania.

The Lawrence Academy operates in Eastern Tanzania, provided rural children with crucial access to education and food.

In all my years I’ve never met children so enthusiastic about learning as the Lawrence Academy Students.

Their passion for learning really shocked me, as someone who went through an education system where children predominantly had to be pushed to participate and apply themselves.

I’m sure that the next generation of Tanzanian leaders will come from institutions like these, where children are taught skills that benefit their upward mobility.

However the school is struggling to make ends meet. Extreme weather events are destroying school infrastructure (roads, fields, etc) while the singular bus that students rely on to get to-and-from school is constantly breaking down in transit, causing anxiety among passengers.

Any funds received by the school through this program will be used to finish the restoration of the school’s nursery wing, suitably repair/replace the damaged current school bus, and provide food to students.

If there is any educational go-fund-me worth donating to, it’s this one. I know for a fact that money sent to this school will directly benefit young students in a country that primarily relies on foreign investment to create opportunities.

for legal reasons I must reiterate that I did not collect any revenue or payment during my time volunteering at the school. Nor did I occupy any permanent role as a staff member beyond simply providing training and teaching support to previously established classes.
