Our father Steve White suffered from a moderate stroke earlier this month, and is currently receiving treatment at the Penn State Medical Center in Hershey, PA. The stroke was caused by a 100% clot in his carotid artery, which occurred as a result of his radiation treatments from stage three throat cancer that he had nine years ago. The stroke has caused paralysis on the left side of his body and his esophagus, creating the the inability to ingest anything orally, the need for a feeding tube, and impairing his speech.

We would like to move him to a rehabilitation facility closer to CT so that we, his family, can visit him more often during the many months of this recovery process. With that, insurance does not cover transportation via ambulance across states, leaving that cost to us. They are hoping to transport him at the end of this coming week (April 21st- 27th).

The goal of this campaign is to cover the cost of the ambulance ride, estimated between $4000-8000. Any additional funds that the campaign raises will be put towards additional medical costs (deductibles, equipment, etc.) and travel costs for family that do not live in CT.
