Fundraiser for Ryan Byrne
Donation protected
Last May, Ryan was diagnosed as having Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. We learned that there are over 30 types of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He has been diagnosed as having two of these types. One type being very aggressive and the other being slower developing.
He then began an aggressive regiment of chemo-immunotherapy at UofM’s Rogel Cancer Center that took place over 18 weeks and was completed in late August. Ryan will need to continue receiving immunotherapy infusions in Ann Arbor for the next two years.
The good news… he’s responded well to the initial chemo-immunotherapy treatments. At this point, the more aggressive type has been mostly eradicated. The unfortunate news… the other more slow developing type can be treated, but not cured. It will be a chronic illness he’ll have to manage. Relapses are certain. Donations to help the family with ongoing medical costs would be greatly appreciated.
In addition, there will be a benefit for Ryan on Saturday, November 27th at 6 pm, held at Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, Michigan. It will include a potluck, drinks, and live music from his daughter Abbey's band, The Third Degree, as well as The Marsupials and Distant Stars.
6:00-7:00PM | potluck & cocktails
7:00-8:00PM | The Third Degree
8:15-9:00 | The Marsupials
9:00-10:00 | Distant Stars
We won't be selling tickets but we will pass around the hat at the event as well. Thank you.
