Fundraiser for Ray and Stephanie Smith

As many of you know, Ray was flown to UAB and placed on ECMO on Sunday, November 6th. Ray is showing signs of improvement! He has been taken off the ventilator and is awake and alert today. He is having some trouble communicating, but is able to answer yes/no, or give one word answers.
Stephanie is in Birmingham with Ray and will be for a while. She is working with a Social Worker to get housing in Birmingham, close to the hospital, so she can continue to be at Ray’s side while he recovers. Recovery from sepsis and being on ECMO is a long process. Stephanie and Ray are looking at weeks of recovery, with Stephanie being unable to work during this time.
This fundraiser is to help take some of the financial burden off of this precious family. No one should have to worry about how they are going to feed their children and keep their house, while simultaneously having to worry about helping their spouse fight for their life - all of this during the holidays. If you can help in any way, Stephanie and Ray will be forever grateful. No amount is too small.
