FUNDRAISER FOR RATNA'S LIVER TRANSPLANT AND RECOVERY

A few weeks ago, our beloved friend, Ratna Maharjan, 49, was living happily in Gaithersburg, MD, when his life took an unexpected turn. In early August, Ratna was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis, which rapidly progressed to liver failure. He has been receiving treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore since August 16th and is now awaiting a liver transplant from a deceased donor. The road ahead for Ratna is long and filled with uncertainties, but his family—his wife, Laxmi, and their 20-year-old daughter, Srashta, a full-time student—have been by his side every step of the way, offering their unwavering love and support. However, this situation has placed an immense emotional and financial burden on the Maharjan family. Laxmi will need to take a leave of absence from work to care for Ratna during this critical time, adding further strain to their financial resources.
