My dad has always been the kind of man who shows up for others; whether it’s for family, neighbors, or friends in need. Now, I’m asking for help on his behalf, as he faces one of the hardest chapters of his life.
In just the past few months, he’s been through more than anyone should have to endure. It started with a hospitalization for internal bleeding due to esophageal varices ulcers. He had to undergo a painful banding procedure, and not long after being released, he suffered a traumatic injury: a broken femur.
The first surgery to repair it didn’t go as planned. The rod they used turned out to be defective and broke inside his leg, forcing him to undergo a second major surgery. If that wasn’t enough, he developed a blood clot in his leg, and the blood thinners meant to help him caused internal bleeding again, sending him back to the hospital.
He’s currently staying at SKY Rehab in Bowling Green, KY, working every day to regain his strength and mobility.
He’s now been out of work for over a month, and the financial strain is growing; rent, utilities, food, transportation, and medical expenses are all piling up. My dad is proud and humble, and he’s not one to ask for help. But right now, he needs it.
If you’re able to give, share, or simply send your support, it means the world to our family. Every bit helps ease the burden and allows him to focus on what truly matters: healing and getting back to the people and community he loves so much.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️
