Fundraiser for Priestly Ordination and First Masses

Hello, my name is Conán McGonagle and I am a Transitional Deacon of the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter (FSSP) from Limavady, Co. Derry. I will be ordained to the Priesthood on the 28th of May 2026. I am greatly indebted to very generous benefactors who have assisted me over the past six years in covering the fees of seminary tuition and travel, with special mention to those who bought tickets for and attended my fundraising concerts.
I am also exceptionally grateful for those who have helped me get started on the considerable costs of the next year by purchasing a number of items on my behalf. I am setting up this fundraiser to cover some final expenses:
- Outstanding vestment costs;
- Provisions for a simple altar to celebrate Mass when home;
- Cost of receptions following Ordination/First Mass;
- Subsidising the costs of seminarians who will travel to Ireland to assist at First Masses (serving, singing etc.).
Please know that I pray constantly for my benefactors and that, in the near future, I promise to remember you every day at the Altar during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Thank you for your tremendous generosity towards me! A priest, poor instrument that he is, is the fruit of considerable prayer and sacrifice - it takes a community to raise a priest. Moreover, as St John Vianney said so well, a priest is not for himself but for you. Please help me to get off the ground as I begin my priestly ministry, the work of a lifetime, for the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls.
