Patrick’s fight against IIIA Testicular Cancer

My very dear friend Patrick is 41 years old and was diagnosed with testicular cancer this past February. For those of you who know him, he’s an avid CrossFit athlete who who works out 5-6 days a week. He brings one of the most positive and encouraging attitudes into the gym everyday, and enjoys helping other people. He is cheerful, loving, friendly, strong and always puts his family and friends before himself.
He underwent surgery in mid February to remove the original tumors. However, with further testing, cancerous cells were detected in both of his lungs. As a result, he will be undergoing intense chemotherapy for 9-12 weeks starting the third week of March.
Because of this, he will be taking a medical leave to concentrate fully on fighting this disease in the hopes that after the conclusion of treatment, he will be cancer free. This treatment and leave of absence from work will be costly for the family and any money we can raise to lessen this financial burden would be helpful.
He hopes by sharing his story and his experience that it will encourage others to get there yearly wellness checks and physicals. Who would have thought a routine physical could result in a cancer diagnosis.
