Hi everyone, this is Teresa! She’s a second year pharmacy student at UMB and one of my favorite people on the planet. We’ve known Teresa since our first couple weeks of college and have been through so much together. In that time she’s worked crazy hard putting herself through school, working full-time while going to school full-time, graduating undergrad and putting herself through pharmacy school.

We are fundraising to help pay for a surgery that will keep her from eventually losing her vision. Teresa’s been diagnosed with keratoconus, a disorder where the corneas begin to thin uncontrollably. Without intervention, her vision could deteriorate to the point where she can’t see, even with glasses. Her right eye is already significantly impacted. The best way to preserve her existing vision is to perform corneal cross-linking, a surgery that can halt the progression of the disorder before her left eye is impacted. This procedure is not covered by insurance, and costs are about $5,000 out of pocket, per eye.

Losing your vision is devastating. Having this risk your career and livelihood after working so hard to get to where you are is devastating. Our girl does not deserve this. Please consider donating to help us fund her surgery.
