Fundraiser for our dad in rare PML diagnosis

Our dad, Danny, has been diagnosed with a rare disease called Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, a progressive disease that causes brain damage and worsens overtime. This was caused by his non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer treatments, which he was diagnosed in December 2023. He currently cannot see out of his right eye, has memory problems and personality changes. There is no cure for the disease. This unexpected diagnosis has come as a shock to our family, and it is challenging not only emotionally but also financially.

He was a truck driver for 31 years and his license has been removed due to this illness and can no longer work. Our dad has worked hard his entire life and for that to be taken away in one day has been hard on him.

We are creating this fundraiser as he is the sole provider of the family and we’re not sure when he’ll be able to get disability benefits, especially since he’s self-employed. The money would be used to pay bills, prescription medication, mileage to doctor appointments and hospital parking.

Our dad is someone who brings warmth and laughter to any room. His sense of humor is infectious. He’s incredibly kind-hearted, always ready to offer support or encouragement when needed. He’s been incredibly positive throughout this diagnosis. Your support is appreciated during this difficult time.
