Fundraiser for NICU, St. Mary’s Hospital

Donation protected
We found out a few weeks before our daughter was born prematurely in March 2021 that she would require surgery on the day of her birth due to a rare duodenal atresia case. The original plan was to have her bowel repaired and, a week later, we would be on our way…

A week after the initial surgery, her bowel would actually perforate, leading to further surgery and a much lengthier stay of 12 weeks on the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Whilst our time there was often emotional and spent worrying and trying not to cry at the side of our daughter’s cot, the service provided by the NICU staff has us endlessly indebted to them. Their personal and professional skills, borne from years of hard work, enriches the lives of so many people on a daily basis and helps work toward the universal belief that no child should have to spend longer than they need to in intensive care.

This gig is our way of trying to give back and make a small contribution to the massive impact the NICU has.
