Hey, my name is Sophia and I’m making this fundraiser to raise money for the rest of the money needed for my wheelchair repairs. I have Severe M.E and am a full time wheelchair user! An incredible charity recently was able to raise me £2600 for my new wheels and motor as the wheels are almost about to explode (literally) and the tires are completely worn and the motor is very old which is incredible. Both big wheels alone are £700 each so this is amazing and I’m so grateful, however in order to go ahead with any of these repairs they’re needing £200 more as prices have recently gone up. I am also recently experiencing problems with my joystick and controller which is doing things independently stopping working randomly. A new one is £500. I was also told due to the age of my chair once he takes works on it he may find more problems that need fixing so this is why I am making this despite how awful it feels. My wheelchair is absolutely everything and my entire independence and my ability to live alone away from an abusive situation which I will have to go back too if i don’t have this chair as il have to use a manual again and I have no strength in my arms to self propel so I’d need help with pushing and the only help I have is with someone with alcohol dependency and who can become very abusive which affects my mental health greatly. Without my chair id need even to be pushed to the toilet and have no independence whatsoever. Even just £2 would be amazing if you’re able. Thank you so much and I’m so sorry I’m having to do this. This is a really scary thing to do, asking for help is a very big deal for me and I hate this but things will become impossible for me without my chair so I’ve had no choice.
