My name is Mary Venuto and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my godmother, Teresa Venuto.  She wanted to share these words:

The question “Who was your favorite teacher?” is always met with an enthusiastic answer. Everyone has a story of that one teacher who gave them the extra time and attention they needed to succeed. No one forgets the teacher who made them feel engaged, empowered, and understood. My older sister has been that teacher for me my entire life and has continued to be that role model for her students.

 

Ms. Hall has been working with Kindergarteners at a local public school for 27 years. Ms. Hall has worked to make a difference in our community by educating young children during a time of virtual learning, limited resources, and uncertainty.

 

This past September, she underwent a routine surgery that was expected to have a 2 to 4-week recovery period. “2 to 4-weeks” is now 3 months and counting due to unforeseen complications in the healing process because of her Crohn's disease. On January 1st, she will no longer be eligible for any leave or disability benefits.

 

I’ve created this Go Fund Me page to help my sister, Sherry Hall, so that she can continue to focus on her recovery. All donations will be used to cover her monthly expenses. A simple act of kindness from you can ripple out and create a safe haven for my sister in her time of need.
