Fundraiser for Jason & Becky Blackburn
On May 7, Becky Blackburn's husband, Jason attempted to take his own life. Since then, Jason has been in ICU at New Hanover Regional Medical Center hospital in Wilmington.
For the past 3 weeks, Jason has undergone several surgeries. He has had multiple brain surgeries which have been successful so far.
His road to recovery is going to be a long, tedious one. Great news -- He has recently been moved down from the ICU into a step down unit. He has struggled with high fevers and there have been many obstacles he's had to face these past 3 weeks.
Due to this tragedy, Jason has lost both of his eyes. He will have a major adjustment now as a blind person...both physically and emotionally. As long as Jason progresses and doesn't have any setbacks, he will be moved to a regular room in the hospital where he will receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc. for weeks up to months as long as he remains stable. Once he has reached this goal, he will be moved to a rehabilitation facility where he will then learn how to live this new lifestyle.
Becky and Jason are on this journey together....but they need our help....both financially and emotionally. What Becky has asked for throughout all of this is our prayers; however, we all know with any tragedy comes financial burdens. This GoFundMe account has been set up to help Becky and Jason with the many adjustments that will have to be made in their home, equipment that will have to be purchased, and medical bills, etc.
Please continue to keep Becky and Jason in your continued prayers and please consider making a donation to help them.j/z
