Fundraiser for Mick & Wendy Joy
Donation protected
Our family are not ones for charity but our situation is very difficult. If you are unable to donate please please just keep Mick and Wendy in your prayers.
We am trying to raise funds for my family as we navigate this difficult time. Our Parents remain in hospital, Dad fighting for his life in the ICU and Mum in the Trauma unit.
We wish to continue to be by their bedside for the next however many weeks +. However we all live 4 hours away from the hospital and need help to fund accommodation etc as well as keep Mum and Dads bills paid. We all also have Children and Jobs at home we need to step away from frequently.
We would like to thank everyone for their beautiful messages of love and support, it definitely helps us keep going.
On Thursday July 3rd my parents were involved in a horrific car crash on the highway. Hit from behind at 100km while they were doing 40kms passing a work zone, spun into oncoming traffic and hit again at 100kms an hour from the other car. It is a miracle they are both alive. They were airlifted by helicopter to the Alfred Hospital. Mum remains in the Trauma unit with fractures to her neck and many places in her back and ribs, also a punctured lung. Thankfully she will recover from her injuries naturally with pain management. My Dad however remains in the ICU indefinitely after suffering a Stroke. He has had brain surgery for a brain bleed and has broken his pelvis, hip, ribs, leg, fractured his face and has had skin torn from various places. I ask that you all please please pray for my Dad as he fights for his life. We cannot lose him yet he is our Best Friend and the greatest Father. He is a wonderful human being and great friend to all who have ever had the pleasure of meeting him. Please please keep us all in your prayers
We still can’t believe this is happening.
Mum is absolutely devastated she hasn’t been able to see Dad since the crash. When the Ambulance found them they were holding hands inside the wreck my sister and brother are doing everything in our power to get them together.
