Hi my name is Olivia, we are asking for help during one of the hardest times of our lives. My partner Connor needs help raising money to lay his mum to rest after her sudden and devastating death.
Connor’s mum, Michelle lives in Sunderland, but despite living far away, they spoke every single day. He would go to her for advice, support and would talk to her about everything. In the last 6 months to a year, they became closer and closer, talking more and more. They had met up in December last year and spoke about starting to meet more often. They were incredibly close despite the distance they lived apart.
6 days ago, Connor started to get concerned as his mum stopped answering his calls or messages. Michelle had never done this before, she would normally let him know why she can’t answer. On Tuesday night he asked his mums neighbour to check on her. He knocks on the windows to no response but the lights in the bedroom and bathroom had been on all day and the bathroom door was closed.
This made Connor more worried so he decided to call the police. After a lot of waiting we finally got through to the Northumbria Police department that informed us they would call us with an update as soon as possible. They were sending police to do a welfare check on her. We waited up hoping for some relief and answers but sadly this isn’t what happened. 2 police officers turned up to the house around 2:00am yesterday morning telling us what we feared most.
This came as such a big shock to us. Connor is only 19, we are both in college full time with no savings. We are now facing the overwhelming costs of arranging everything. It is £2800 just to travel the body from Sunderland to Bristol. We were told that the total will be around £7500 which doesn’t include a headstone which is £1000-£3000 extra.
Her wishes were to be buried with her baby girl in South Bristol and we are going to respect those wishes.
We are asking for any support, no matter how small, to help Connor give his mum the goodbye she deserves. If you are able to donate or even sharing this page would mean so much to us.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this incredibly time.
A small message from Connor:
My mum was an amazing and beautiful woman. I won’t lie and say she didn’t have her faults because those who know her know she did. This doesn’t change how much she loved me and my brother. She tried to be there for me through everything even when her advice wasn’t always the best. She was very funny, I laughed a lot when we spoke and so did she. I can’t believe I won’t be able to talk to her at all anymore. No more late night phone calls and face times. She’s gone.
I will never stop loving you mum, and I will never forget you
