On May 30th 2019, our beloved Wendy Spezowka suddenly passed away while on holidays in BC. She has touched so many people’s lives, in so many beautiful ways, and we will all miss her so dearly. 
Wendy was a full time mother and caregiver to her daughter, Mel. 
Mel is Microcephalic. She is wheelchair bound, non verbal, and dependant 24 hours a day. 
Microcephaly is a birth defect, that leads to many other problems, such as seizures
developmental delay, problems with speech or other developmental milestones (like sitting, standing, and walking), intellectual disability (decreased ability to learn and function in daily life), problems with movement and balance, feeding problems, hearing loss and vision problems. 
Wendy was the best possible caregiver to Mel, and did everything in her power to make sure Mel was as happy, and as healthy as could be, and lived her life to the fullest possible. 
With Wendy now gone, Mel not only lost her mom, but her main caregiver as well. Her sister Farrah, who also feels the pain and loss of losing her mother, has become her guardian.
As the family, we are fundraising for Mel, in trust of Farrah, for all her medical expenses yet to come.
