Hi, I am Vinay. For my Capstone project, I'm aiming to raise money for a group that operates in Uganda to support those dealing with chronic illnesses and other health problems. In Capstone, we chose a topic that really meant something to us and then we designed an action piece that would allow us to impact our topic. For my Capstone, I am focusing on medical supply issues in Uganda and how without these supplies, the people there are getting sick with diseases and medical issues. This project has helped me understand the importance of healthcare. As part of my research, I learned that the doctor-to-patient ratio in the US is 1:300. In Uganda, the ratio is 1:1000, medical supplies are only available in certain areas, and hospital beds are full year-round.

To balance the scales a little bit, I want to give back to those who are less fortunate than I am. All the money I raise will be donated to a charity called Cherish Uganda. Cherish Uganda has a hospital in Uganda that helps treat people who have HIV and other illnesses. Without proper medical aid and supplies, HIV can be passed on to babies, which further hurts the community. Cherish Uganda helps mothers who have HIV and prevents their babies from getting HIV and other illnesses.

My goal is to improve the health of the people in that region so they may have more opportunities. To assist me in getting closer to my $5000 objective, I would greatly appreciate a donation from you.
