McMinnville Playschool has been a non-profit, parent cooperative preschool in McMinnville since 1993. Our mission has been to provide a safe, fun, supportive environment for children and their families to play, learn, and grow together. We have served hundreds of families in Yamhill County since our founding.
The coronavirus pandemic has affected our community in many ways. We have heard from families that they wish to have a safe place for their children to interact together in these difficult times. This year we have a Preschool class and a PreK/Kindergarten Enrichment class. Previously our classroom was located downstairs at the McMinnville Community Center. While we have loved this classroom for years, it does not provide the air circulation and outdoor space necessary during this upcoming school year. We have found a great location at St. John Lutheran Church in McMinnville that provides more overall space and air circulation, this includes a private classroom, a fenced outdoor play area, a kitchenette, and a private bathroom.
Unfortunately, the new classroom is in need of its own running water and sink! While we have a private bathroom, we need a sink inside our classroom for frequent hand washing, cleaning, and sanitizing. Our Playschoolers often learn by getting messy with paint and other art supplies, making a nearby sink a necessity.
Additionally, we need items such as PPE and extra sanitizers to keep everyone safe and healthy. Moving into a new classroom with an outdoor play area also requires some new equipment, such as weatherproof storage and a sun cover.
The expense of new plumbing and equipment doesn’t fit into the years budget and we are asking for your help! We are looking forward to creating a safe learning space for our Playschoolers, and these upgrades are necessary for our school moving forward. Every donation will go directly towards upgrades for McMinnville Playschool and are greatly appreciated by our kids, teachers, and families.
We have an Amazon Wishlist with various things we will need for the school year. All money raised will go to items on this list as well as the cost of plumbing.
