Fundraiser for Manik's family
Donation protected
We all are saddened by the sudden demise of our dear friend Manikkalal Subramanian Pillai. On Sunday 8/5/2019, Manik had a cardiac arrest while swimming in the shallow waters of Lake Washington, Seattle, with his son. He went missing for roughly ten mins underwater before rescued by spectators. Though the emergency crew admitted him to the hospital within 30 minutes, he passed away on 8/7/2019 at Overlake Emergency care due to irreversible brain damage caused by drowning. His wife Arsha and son returned to India last week. Manik's funeral will happen on 8/20/2019 at his home town in Kayamkulam, Kerala.
Manik was working as a Technology Architect for Boeing through Infosys. Manik moved to Seattle in 2014 from Mysuru along with his family. He worked with Wipro for five years before that. His friends remember him as a dedicated family man, cheerful and energetic.
Manik has been the only breadwinner in his family. Manik is survived by his son and wife, who is pregnant, and his mom. At this unfortunate time of their life, the least we can do as a community is to stand together and help them in alleviating the immediate financial expenses. We have had numerous contacts from people asking how to help. His friends in Seattle have created this campaign as a place to leave condolences and donations.
All proceedings will go to the beneficiary directly.
