M62 Coach Bombing 1974
On 4 February 1974, a devastating bomb attack on a coach traveling along the M62 motorway in northern England claimed the lives of twelve people—including nine soldiers and three civilians—and injured thirty-eight others. Among those lost were entire families, all killed instantly in the blast. Many others suffered life-changing injuries, including children as young as six.
This atrocity, carried out by the Provisional IRA, remains one of the deadliest mainland attacks during the Troubles and left a lasting impact on countless families and communities. As we remember those who were killed or injured, we also honour the courage and resilience of survivors, first responders, and all those affected by this tragedy.
Your support will help us ensure that the memory of the victims is never forgotten and that their families and survivors continue to receive the recognition and assistance they deserve. By donating, you are standing with us to remember, reflect, and work towards a future free from violence.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity. Together, we can keep their memories alive and support those still living with the consequences of that fateful day.
