Fundraiser for Luthier Joel Wilkens

Joel Wilkens is an incredibly talented and deeply cool human being who needs your help.

You may not know Joel personally but you will have seen his exceptional work - that cool black guitar that Art Menezes plays, Joel made that. Jared James Nichols’ Les Paul “Dorothy” that was resurrected after being all but destroyed by a tornado - that was Joel too.

In 1996 Joel was badly hurt in a motorcycle accident which caused full paralysis from the T4 down. Since that time Joel has had numerous surgeries in order to reconstruct his spinal column.

You’d never guess when you talk to him, but Joel’s daily life involves a level of physical pain that most of us just can’t imagine. He has further surgeries scheduled and needs financial help to meet his copays and offset the time he has had to take away from his workbench.
