Fundraiser for Luci's Heart

Tax deductible

About Me (Luci):

Hi! My name is Luci. I am almost two years old and full of energy and love! Sometimes both of them get a bit too much and my heart cannot take it.  Please hear my story and consider helping me heal!

Why the Fundraiser?

I have a congenital defect (I was born with) that has resulted in a malformed tricuspid valve and an obstruction in my right ventricle referred to as a double chamber right ventricle. It is a tight obstruction in my right heart making my right heart have to push much harder to get blood through that defect and is resulting in the thickening of the right heart muscle.

The possible outcomes of this include fainting due to either decreased cardiac output due to the tight obstruction of arrythmias, sudden death due to potential arrythmiasm or right sided congestive heart failure (fluid accumulation in the abdomen or around the lungs). My risk of her right heart failure are higher over time due to the complication of the tricuspid valve dysplasia.

Unfortunately, I have been regularly collapsing when I get excited to see my humans or play with my friends. My foster parents and my rescue are trying to get me treated ASAP so I do not have to suffer for much longer.  My condition does not allow me to completely be myself and I was almost put down by my previous family. I take regular medication but  I require a procedure to alleviate the obstruction of the double chamber right ventricle.

FFTF would like to get me fixed up and on to my forever home as a healthy, carefree dog.

From Forgotten to Forever:
From Forgotten to Forever Rescue & Transport
started in 2015 with a mission of transporting dogs and cats out of high kill shelters in New Mexico north to Colorado. The transport side of the operation is responsible for assisting dozens of rescues in rescuing thousands of animals from Death Row over the years. In August of 2018, the rescue operation opened and since then has been responsible for the creation of hundreds of happy families through direct placement adoptions and expanded intake areas to include parts of Texas and remote areas of Colorado.

In 2020, FFTF found forever homes for 297 furry friends and works entirely with volunteer support. FFTF has on multiple occasions supported medical costs worth thousands to save rescued animals and find them a new home.

The fundraiser will directly go to the non-profit to complete my heart treatment ($6000) and to help the rescue with other procedures necessary for my treatment as well as to rescue more of my friends.

Your support will mean the world to me. Thank you for hearing out!
