Fundraiser for Our Fighter, Lety

Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,

Mrs. Ramos, “Lety” our wonderful friend, family member, and an incredible teacher lost her battle with cancer this week. Lety Ramos put up a good fight! She left this world in the same way that she lived in it, vibrant, with music, and surrounded by friends and family. Her family will forever be grateful for all the love she was showered with over the last few weeks. Most especially on Tuesday, June 6th. On this evening, Lety’s family, friends and colleagues gifted her with a mariachi singing all the songs she loved most, right outside her front door. The gifts continued to flow with beautiful pictures, words of love, appreciation, and encouragement from everyone there, including many of her past and current students. Lety was able to wave to all, blow kisses and even make a special song request, “Guadalajara”. Her positive light and strength always shined brightly. Lety left this world knowing she was loved! Our most humble and sincerest thank you for that beautiful demonstration of love on, June 6!

To share a little more about our dear Lety, she was a public school kindergarten teacher who did everything she could to make sure that her students had everything they needed. She loved to plan creative and inventive lessons for her students that would inspire a love for learning. She also donated a “pool party” that she would host at her home each year to be auctioned at her school’s fundraiser. Her pool party was a coveted prize for any kindergarten student who was lucky enough to go and highly bid on by parents. Lety poured her love into teaching. She also poured her love into being a fantastic mother to her beloved children, Zoe and Zack. She did everything she could which included working extra jobs to make sure her children had many wonderful experiences growing up and all the things they needed. Lety was the school liaison and teacher for an ongoing after-school and summer school arts program every year to help supplement her family’s income. Now, besides grieving the loss of their beloved mother and wife, the family is left to deal with the financial burden of moving forward without her emotional and financial support.

Lety poured every ounce of energy into making sure that her students and her family had everything that they needed and now her family needs your help. The medical bills from Lety’s cancer are immense. The family is overwhelmed by dealing with the logistics of grief and an unexpected death and they are also now being inundated with bills from the treatment and the hospice care. The funds raised will be used to cover any medical expenses incurred from her cancer and hospice treatment and funeral expenses. In addition, we would love to shower Zoe with the same type of love that Lety did. Lety was at every Lacrosse tournament, every swim meet, every concert, and every event for both of her children with bells on and sometimes even in costume. We know that her husband Dennis will need financial support to make sure that Zoe has that same type of support. After paying the medical bills, any additional funds raised will go to making sure Lety’s legacy lives on in the actions and events of her children.

Any donation will help lessen the burden and will be greatly appreciated.
We thank you in advance.

Previous Post:
Mrs. Ramos has dedicated her life to teaching children. From teaching them how to
read, to tying to their shoes, to showing them the joy of cutting and pasting, to sitting
with them on the rug as they experience the fun of reading or being read to aloud. She
has walked with them in the garden, shown them the flowers, they have seen the
seasons together, and learned so much. Over the years, she has had the privilege to
not only teach hundreds of students, but also to teach their siblings, their cousins, and
so many more. She has had the opportunity to work with parents to set goals, to reach
milestones, and to bask in the joy that comes from having a five-year-old learn a new skill. These are the moments that have brought Lety so much joy.

Mrs. Ramos is fighting her second round of cancer. She’s fighting a good fight, but she
is too weak to return to work this school year or this summer. Her family is experiencing
a loss of her income and we would like to try to take this burden off them so they can
focus on Lety’s health. Let’s rally our community around this pillar of Waters that has
taught so many of our children so much. Below we are sharing the information for Lety's fundraising event. We hope that you can join us for an evening of great music for a great cause.

Gracias a todos.
