Fundraiser for Leah Stanfield

This is my awesome friend Leah. She has spent the last few years kicking cancer’s ass.
I hired Leah as a leasing agent back in the summer of 2013 when I was managing a property in downtown Fort Worth. At the time she was waiting tables at a bar and was looking to make a change with her life. During the interview process I found her to be one of the nicest people I had met and she loved the city of Fort Worth. It seemed like a perfect fit.
Over the years, I watched Leah grow from a leasing agent to a leasing manager to an assistant manager to the property manager of her own property. She became a star within our company and was recognized as one of the best managers in our portfolio.
A few years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer. As a result of aggressive chemotherapy treatment, she is currently in remission. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the chemotherapy damaged a lot of the healthy tissue and organs in Leah‘s body.
Over the past year and a half she has dealt with surgery after surgery to remove these damaged tissues and organs. She has been unable to work for over a year. The side effects of the chemotherapy have taken that from her. Luckily, she has insurance, but her income stream has dried up to nothing.
Our friendship and camaraderie extended beyond being coworkers. This woman is an amazing warrior and has a zest for life like few others. She doesn’t like to ask for help, but as her friend and former manager, I see that she needs it.
Leah leaves for Minnesota next week for another surgery that hopefully will be her last. Recent scans show that she is still in remission, so there is lots of hope. If you have the means to support her, whether you know her or are a stranger, please donate.
Again, Leah does not like to ask for help. I am posting this with her approval.
Thank you in advance for anyone reading this that can contribute.
