Updated on June 15, 2023....
Evelyn Nora Small was born at 29 weeks on May 25, 2023. Evie weighed in at 2 lbs - 15 oz and 13 inches long. She continues to grow stronger every day weighing 3 lbs 5 oz and 15.5 inches long. She may be tiny, but she is strong and feisty just like her Mommy. Many prayers are being answered. This beautiful precious baby girl was born crying and breathing on her own. Praise God for our answered prayers. Evie's stay in the NICU will be long and she is not expected to be able to go home until her due date, which is August 10th.
Please continue to pray for Evie and pray for Kristi's miracle. We ask you to share this GoFundMe post as there will be so many uncovered hospital costs for her and Kristi and so many newborn essentials.
Now that Evie is born and Kristi has recovered from her C-Section, they are focusing on Kristi's Cancer treatments. She is receiving 2 forms of aggressive chemotherapy. 1 in her spine and the other is an ommaya reservoir in her head which allows the chemo to go directly to her brain. This horrible disease is incurable but the chemo treatments will help relieve her symptoms. Kristi remains at the Hospital. She can visit with Evie as seen in the pictures below when she is feeling well enough (which is another answer to our prayers). It is an emotional roller-coaster ride for Kristi and all who love her. Please share this GoFundMe post as much as possible. We ask that you continue to lift Kristi and her family in prayer as they navigate through this difficult time. Any contributions are greatly appreciated. They should not need to feel the burden of mounting medical bills and daily expenses while navigating through this difficult time.

Update...Personally and on behalf of Kristi, Nathan and their family, we would like to thank everyone who has so generously donated and for their continuous prayers for Kristi, Baby Evie, Nathan and their family. Evie will be arriving by a scheduled C-Section tomorrow morning, May 25th, at 07:30. Please continue to pray for Kristi and Baby Evie for her safe delivery.

We are reaching out on behalf of Kristi and Nathan Small to request your support in raising funds for Kristi's care, comfort and well-being as she battles cancer. It is our hope this platform can alleviate some financial strain brought on by this terrible disease. Kristi has been unable to work and Nathan has exhausted all of his sick days, personal time and vacation to care for Kristi 24/7. He is a dedicated and loving husband, and their unwavering faith has been a source of strength for them both.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2020, Kristi underwent treatment including a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, which successfully eradicated the cancer. In October 2021, Kristi and Nathan were married, and they were overjoyed to learn that Kristi was expecting a baby girl, whom they plan to name Evelyn (Evie for short). However, at 20 weeks Kristi began experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, and blurred vision. Sadly, her cancer had returned, and it had spread to her brain stem and spinal column, leaving her with a stage 4 diagnosis of Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis.

Despite the challenges she faces, Kristi remains brave and determined to carry her baby until she can be safely delivered, which will be around 28 to 30 weeks. She is currently 26 weeks along. Kristi's son Ethan is a senior in high school and will be graduating in June, which is a significant milestone for the family.
The family planned to have her baby shower in June, and baby Evie will need a nursery when she comes home.

We ask that you continue to lift Kristi and her family up in prayer as they navigate through this difficult time. Any contributions are greatly appreciated. They should not need to feel the burden of mounting medical bills and daily expenses while navigating through this difficult time.
