Anyone fortunate enough to have known Eddie knew he had a heart of gold. Eddie was generous to a fault, strong as an ox, stubborn as a mule, brutally honest, and as loyal as they come. They also knew he was a proud Brooklyn native, mostly because he was larger than life (6'5") with a voice to match and would shout across the room with every opportunity he got.
Eddie was a man who made his own opportunities. LOTS of them.
In 2015, Eddie was married to the love of his life, Katherin (Kat) Brown, who, despite being born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, generously forgave him for being a Jets fan. Although they were in their 30s, the two of them acted more like besotted teenagers from the moment they first laid eyes on each other. Tired of always being told to get a room, they bought a house full of rooms in Bloomfield, and moved together with their beloved daughter, Zoe, in 2016. More than even the jets, Eddie loved taking his family on adventures. As Zoe's artistic and athletic gifts emerged, he nurtured and encouraged them, never missing a practice, game, recital, or opportunity to play catch. And we already know about Eddie and opportunities.
A highly-skilled tradesman, Eddie could fix just about anything, usually after taking it apart. His barbecue talents are the stuff of legends- there was no beast of land, water or sky that he couldn't sear to perfection over an open flame. He, Kat and Zoe loved cooking together and even kept a small vegetable garden in the backyard. In short, Eddie was the guy that everyone wants on their team during the apocalypse.
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gently autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
