Our friend and colleague, Karla Garcia, suffered a stroke on April 7, 2024 and is still in critical condition. Her recovery will be a long and difficult one. With the permission of Karla's family, this fundraiser has been created to help Karla, Jesus (husband), Alonzo (son), and Alexa (daughter) during this devastating crisis.

For those of you how don't know Karla well or at all, she is an amazing woman with a deep commitment to her family and a strong determination to succeed. She completed college while also taking care of her son, Alonzo, who was an infant at the time. She first worked at the State Attorney's Office as a legal assistant in Felony Case Filing. However, her dream was to become and attorney so she worked hard and was admitted to Nova Southeastern University College of Law. After graduating from law school, Karla found out she was pregnant with Alexa, her mini-me, but worked hard to pass the Bar exam in spite of being a busy mother of two. The State Attorney's Office welcomed Karla back on March 4, 2024 as a brand new Assistant State Attorney and although she had only recently started, she was well on her way when this tragedy struck.
