Fundraiser for Jimmy Dalton -Stroke Complications

Hello, My Name is Tim Colantoni and I am raising money for my cousin Jimmy (James,Jimbo,Jungle) Dalton who is more like my big brother. On May 23rd, 2023, Jimmy had a Hemorrhagic Stroke (Burst blood vessel in his brain) in his home in Jacksonville NC. After struggling to reach his phone, he was finally able to call 911. EMT's took him to the local fire station where a life flight helicopter took him to Novant Hospital in Wilmington NC. They were able to save his life, but he was left with paralysis on the entire left side of his body. After 8 days he was transported to Tidelands Rehabilitation Hospital in Little River SC. Jimmy was there for 3 weeks. The great nurses and doctors there were able to help him regain some movement in his left leg, however it is still weak, and he has to walk with the assistance of an off-set quad cane or needs a wheelchair. The paralysis is still present in his left arm and hand. He is working hard to try to regain movement in his left arm and hand, however the doctors say it may take one year to regain the use of his left arm and hand or he may not ever fully recover.

Jimmy has been out of work for one month already and needs help paying his medical bills after insurance and his monthly bills. For those of you that know Jimmy he has always been a very hard worker. Jimmy would be the first one to give a stranger the shirt off his back. Jimmy doesn't live an extravagant lifestyle. He only needs help with his major bills, house, car, phone, insurance, electricity payments. Jimmy is already one month behind since he was hospitalized for a month. Jimmy's daughter is trying to help him apply for disability and social service programs. As these programs take sometime to get approved if they do get approved. While he waits for help, I would like to try to raise enough money to cover his expenses for 4 months. The 1 month he is already behind and 3 months in the future which we hope disability and social services will kick in within those 3 months. With that my goal is to try to raise a total of $8000 which is approximately $2000 a month.

Thank you for your consideration, I know Jimmy wouldn’t ever want to ask for help from anyone. However, mine and his daughters’ goals and our desire is to try to help him keep his house and his car. He has worked his whole life and I know he can’t wait to get back to work if he ever gets healthy enough to do so. If you know Jimmy, you know he can not sit still.
