Fundraiser for Jess' medical expenses

Hey everyone this is Jess' brother Zach. I'm sure alot of you already know and alot of you may not but Jess has been going through some health issues over the last couple years. A little over 2 years ago she went in for a scheduled hysterectomy and due to some complications during surgery she has had alot of issues since. During her first surgery an issue occurred with her bladder which ended up not being able to be fixed. She ended up having to go to a specialist in Philadelphia so they could repair her bladder and after having 3 surgeries to try and repair that ultimately none of them ended up working. So now her most recent surgery was to remove her bladder and do a urostomy which is a surgical procedure that creates a stoma for the urinary system. They have to remove a piece of your intestine to make the stoma and then that goes to the ostomy bag. After a day or so recovering in the hospital from this surgery she started having really bad pain. They did some catscans and bloodwork and found out she had damage to her colon and it was causing a bad infection to start building in her system. So she had to go into emergency surgery to repair her colon. Due to this they also had to do a ileostomy which causes her to need a colostomy bag for at least 3 months to a year. Once everything heals they will be able to reverse the ileostomy but do to the total removal of her bladder she will have the ostomy bags for life. So she still has a long road of recovery ahead of her along with more surgeries. And all of this has taken place in Philadelphia. Due to all of this she hasn't been able to work in over 2 years. So all these appointments and surgeries are really starting to add up. Every trip down there is usually at least 1 night stay in a hotel room. Which this surgery Joe will be in a hotel for at least 10 days. That alone is alot of costs. She will have many more appointments and trips to Philly along with at least one more surgery. All of this is really starting to add up. On top of this they are both losing time with their kids and being able to do certain things with them because of all of this. Whoever knows Jess knows that she will do anything she possibly can to help anyone and would never ask for anything in return. Being in such a rough spot our whole family is asking that if you can possibly help in any way that you would. It doesn't have to be alot. At this point any little bit helps. Anything that is raised will be going to help with doctor bills , hotel stays and whatever else it needs to go towards to help keep things going right now. Everything that is donated is appreciated more than anyone knows and our whole family thanks everyone who is able to help.

Update 6/20/2023

Jess is still in the hospital in Philly. Has had a few setbacks that has stopped her from coming back home yet. She seems to be feeling a little bit better every day now though. Still very weak but they are trying to get her up and moving a little more every day. With any luck she may be able to leave the hospital at the end of the week but they don't want to rush anything and send her home to early being so far away if anything were to happen.
