Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Jeff Streich and I am in need of some assistance financially with medical bills. On Sunday, March 26 I woke up with severe pain in my lower back and could not move. I was taken to the New Ulm Medical Center's urgent care department and was admitted overnight as they ran a plethora of tests. While X-rays came back negative, CT and MRI scans came back normal, we were lying in the land of the unknown as to what was going on. With the severe pain still lingering days later, I also experienced limited mobility, an elevating fever, and very minimal sleep. On Wednesday, March 29 I was transported to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis to hopefully find some answers. I am grateful for the care from the staff at the New Ulm Medical Center.

At Abbott Northwestern, it was determined that I had developed an epidural abscess. The infection located on my L5-S1 disc, was also rubbing a nerve, causing slight numbness and tingling in my legs. The infection is Staphylococcus aureus, better known as staph. The form of staph infection is MSSA.

I am now home but face a mountain of medical bills, including my antibiotic infusions that I must be on for 6 weeks at $1,200 per week in addition to my hospital stay, ambulance transportation, imaging tests, laboratory tests, medications, and therapy costs. I will be out of work for a minimum of a few months.
