Fundraiser for Jason Terris
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jen (Terris) Cox and I’m raising funds on behalf of my brother, Jason Terris (aka Tbag or JJ). He is now waiting for a double lung transplant to save his life. Jason was diagnosed with stage 4 COPD caused by a genetic condition called Alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency. He is deficient in the AAT protein that protects the lungs from inflammation and damage. Alpha-1 lung disease is commonly called ‘genetic COPD.’ There is no cure.
While he waits for the transplant he is required to live in Toronto, possibly for many months, then has to stay for a minimum of another 3 months after the surgery.
An apartment close to the hospital is $6000 a month, plus his medications will be ‘thousands a month’ as he doesn’t have prescription coverage. He has also not been able to work for some time and has a mortgage and bills to pay.
Jason lives a simple, private life and anyone who knows him realizes that he doesn’t like asking for anything! He keeps saying that all he wishes to do is be able to go back to work ‘his happy place’ at the lodge, where he’s been a fishing guide for the past 23 years. He also wants to be able to spend time with family & friends and to take his dog Max out for a walk on the beach again. I want to make that happen!
Thank you all in advance for your time, well wishes and donations.
