Fundraiser for Inugoya Rehoming & Rehabilitation

Donation protected

Hello,

My name is Lizz, and I run Inugoya Rehoming and Rehabilitation, a specialized foster home that focuses on Rottweilers, and German Shepherds (and other working breeds), especially those with behavioural challenges.

Dec 2020 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which a few months later was confirmed to be stage 4. I am currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, and I'm following my doctor's guidance with every step. As such I am unfortunately off work, and therefore completely reliant on supporter donations to keep going. While my doors are closed for intakes for obvious reasons, the existing dogs still have to be cared for until they are successfully placed in adoptive homes.

Prior to the diagnosis, the plan was to sell the existing property, as it was in need of major upgrades which the funds were not there for, and move up north, starting with a fresh build in a much more affordable climate. When the previous property sold, as treatment again it was made clear to me that bouncing around during this time was not good for myself, or my medical team, so I'm now renting to stay local. Unfortunately that doesn't allow me to keep the dogs in my care as it is not a kennel property. At this time the dogs are cared for by a boarding facility, which is the bulk of my monthly costs (~$7,500). I have been paying this out of personal pocket, but between that, the ongoing medical costs, enrichment costs, and day to day spending my pocket is now empty. The funds that were to be used for the deposit on the new property have been depleted.

My goal is simply to stay 'open' long enough to see the last dog placed successfully into its forever home. As these are behavioural, working dogs, with specific challenges, this is not a fast process. Unicorn homes don't just pop up because I ran into personal health issues. I am determined to make this work until they all find their proper, and forever homes.

I ask for your support, to keep Inugoya going long enough to see the last dog placed successfully. To allow the dogs to receive the same level of care and commitment until their new family takes over.

Please also share the Available Dogs album. These dogs have specific needs, but I know the right home is out there for each and every one. We just need to find them. You can find the album on my Facebook page, here: https://facebook.com/InugoyaRehomingAndRehabilitation/photos/?tab=album&album_id=111579404141819&ref=page_internal&paipv=1

Thank you so very, very much for your support. Every dollar brings me one more day forward. Thank you
