Fundraiser for Holly Haas

Donation protected
Our beautiful beloved Holly Haas, of the McKeesport Area, was seriously injured Saturday April 20th, 2024. She was riding as a passenger in a side by side, off road vehicle, when it crashed. The details of how the accident occurred are unknown and still being discovered. Both she and the driver were wearing helmets, which saved their lives. Nonetheless, she suffered major trauma to her brain and body. The most severe of her injuries is to the part of her brain that regulates oxygen intake and as a result she is on a ventilator to help her breathe. Holly will likely need to permanently be on oxygen and will rely on a caretaker for the foreseeable future. The doctors are stating that she will have permanent brain damage, but that some parts will recover. The road ahead is long in determining the extent of the traumatic brain injury (TBI). She is currently being treated at Penn Highlands Dubois Hospital which is more than a two hour commute for her mother LeeAnn Haas. LeeAnn has been by Holly’s side since the accident and has younger children at home. Holly is a mother herself of two children under 5. Currently Holly’s condition is very serious, while her injuries have been stabilized she is currently battling pneumonia and ADRs in her lungs, she has had a blood transfusion and has undergone the installation of two central lines in separate parts of her body to administer the amount of medication necessary to treat her. She has undergone a surgery to put a plate in her arm which was severely broken. She’s presently in a medically induced coma which they continue to try to stabilize her out of, but have been so far, unsuccessful due to Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Pneumonia. They are monitoring her for signs of posturing and are concerned she could slip into a vegetative state. Lastly, Holly needs to be transitioned from the ventilator and onto an endotracheal tube. She needs to have surgery for this and is currently not gaining enough oxygen to support her through the surgery, these next hours and days are very critical.

Along with your continued prayers, encouragement and support, funds are needed immediately for LeeAnn and Holly as living, medical and legal expenses are already compounding. LeeAnn has been off work to be by Holly’s side. Holly’s children will need extra support and childcare as the weeks unfold. For now Holly is not stable enough to be moved closer to home, the commute is certainly an extra strain on LeeAnn as she takes on this additional life role, of caregiver to Holly.

Please give what you can via gofundme, any amount is appreciated and urgently needed. If this reaches you, please share!!!
