Fundraiser for Healthy Generations
Tax deductible
In March 2021, Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging d/b/a Healthy Generations has, like many non-profits nationwide, been the victim of service preventing catalytic converter thefts. A quick google search for “non-profit catalytic converter thefts” will show just how big a problem this is. These thefts mean that our vans, (12) total, are prevented from operating until they are repaired. With the average cost to replace the catalytic converter on a body on chassis van being $2200.00+, and the need to secure the remainder of our vans being $11,000.00 or more, we are in a pickle. This is the first time in 45+ years of operation that our vehicles have been targeted in this way. We need your help to prevent further thefts and to repair our damaged vans! Our limited budget has already been attributed to other operating expenses and we don’t have the ability to pay for a capital outlay to put up a fence or beef up our security cameras. This is where you come in! If you donate $10.00 and so do 1,499 of your friends we can meet our current need for capital assistance. What this means for Seniors in our community:
-Limited ability to deliver necessary food
-Limited ability to deliver necessary social activities to help fend off the ramifications of isolation (Isolation can have similar health effects to smoking 15 cigarettes a day!!)
-Limited ability to provide transportation to vaccination clinics for seniors who don’t otherwise have transportation
-Impacts to drivers due to not having sufficient vans to do their work
-Impacts to the agency operations not being able to provide the same level of services to our clients.
Ultimately this means that we can’t feed, interact with, and support our clients in the same way until we can repair our vans and prevent further thefts. Can you help? Your assistance is so necessary and appreciated by many of your neighbors.
