On November 6th, Ben,  one of our original grinders, had a stroke and almost lost his life. 

When I heard the news, I was in disbelief.  I knew Ben as Havoc... as in, HavocX12... the guy who knocked down any yellow or red gym.  He had no quit. Back in the old gym system, we could assemble a 10-stack Instinct blissey gym... didn't matter.  He would fight all night to make sure he always had 20 pokemon stuffed into gyms. And even after he was capped, he might even still knock down a few more gyms just for sport.

Ben has a long road to recovery. His left side was almost completely paralyzed from the stroke. He had to literally start over... one of the first milestones after coming out of the induced coma was to learn how to swallow.

Ben has already made significant progress in his recovery. But he will be discharged soon from the hospital and will need to continue his recovery from home. It will be intensive and exhausting.
