Fundraiser for Greg Tyree's Medical Bills

My name is Kristina Viar, and I am fundraising for my boyfriend's dad, Greg Tyree.

Greg Tyree, who pastors GracePointe Baptist Church in Madison Heights and is Administrative Director of Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity, has devoted his entire life to serving others, with the objective of glorifying God by making the world a better place.

On October 16 he had a routine colonoscopy. It was determined that Greg had Stage-4 Colon Cancer. This news changed his life.

In preparation for the surgery, a CT Scan was done, which disclosed several large lesions on the liver.

Since October 16 it’s been one procedure after another, tests following tests. Major surgery (colectomy) on October 27, Infusions, a PET Scan, a liver biopsy, meetings with the surgeon, the oncologist, primary care physician, and other health care team members.

Greg will possibly be going to Duke to have liver surgery, though that has yet to be finalized.

Chemotherapy will start after he is four weeks out of the surgery (early December).

While Greg has medical insurance, there have been numerous expenses not covered, leaving him to pay thousands of dollars. Lois, Greg’s wife, has had to take many days off, some without pay.
