FUNDRAISER FOR GOKEN!

Donation protected
G'day lads,
Some sad news, unfortunately our good friend and the best barman in Kagoshima has hit tough times and needs our help. He has had a stroke, and is in a bad way. He was unable to talk or move and was in ICU for awhile, but has made some progress and is now able to talk slowly, and move a little. He will need a lot of support and therapy to get back to anywhere near his former self, and very, very sadly GOKEN's BAR WILL HAVE TO CLOSE!!! So many, beers, so many memories!
As some of you may know, his wife Sachiko has also been unwell for some time, she needs to go to hospital for kidney dialysis a few times a week, and was relying on Goken to take her to and from the hospital and for his bar to help them pay the extra costs.
They will need a lot of help, to renovate their house to make it access free, and probably for a nurse or carer to help them out. The local Kanoya lads will be helping to clean out and close down the bar (and probably drink the leftover piss we hope! nothing will be wasted god forbid!) and at their home and deliver meals and help out as much as possible, but we can all help too, even if we are far away.
You can help in a few ways:
  • CASH! Any cash donation that you were able to give would be very, very, very much welcomed and needed, they are going to be facing tough times over the next few months and this year especially. Details for donations follow. Direct transfer to me is fine. All funds will go to Ryo who will make sure it goes directly to Goken and also that he won't spend it on smokes, whiskey and shochu - unless you specifically request that it must be used on smokes, whiskey and shochu! haha
  • AUCTION / FUNDRAISER - we may at some point in the near future do an auction of some of the memorabilia at Goken's Bar, and also if you had any items you'd possibly like to add to that event, please have a think. More details in the next few weeks about that.
  • VIDEO MESSAGE - the poor bastard has been locked in a hospital with nobody able to visit for the past 2 weeks, also having to involuntarily going cold-turkey off his daily diet of smokes and shochu - all while he wasn't able to talk or move! Can't be easy! A short video message from some old friends, and something to make him laugh and smile would be very much welcomed! You can email that or Facebook message a video msg to me.
  • SHARE - please feel free to share this among any previous tour members who might not be in this group too!
Thanks everyone
Cheers,
LG
