Hi, my name is DeeAnna Jean and I am helping out a lifelong family friend in the unexpected death of my dear friend Sarah.

Today I received the devastating news that Sarah had sadly passed away at home while in the care of her children.

My connection with Sarah dates back to the 90’s - our fathers were both in the Navy and we were neighbors on Little Creek Base. She would often reminisce with me about stories of her and my brother.

Sarah had many health issues - including lupus, she was in a wheel chair, partial paralyzed she couldn’t walk on her own, her body was at a 90 degree angle at all times as her back was broken. Her most recent diagnosis was lymphoma cancer.

Sarah was very humble and it took quite a bit of time for her to allow me to come and see her - years in fact. She often would tell me she did not want me to see her in the condition she was. One day I wanted to bring gifts and just leave them at her door - I was very happy she allowed me to see her - she was so beautiful! Her hair was perfect, her skin was perfect and I told her a million times. We shared so many stories for a couple of hours and from then she was no linger embarrassed of me to see her in her condition.

Sarah loved her children more than anything in the world. You would often read her Facebook posts of her five heartbeats when she would speak of her children.

Sadly her five heartbeats are now left to pick up the pieces of Mommy’s life and make funeral arrangements.
