Fred, Josh's beloved cat, needs your help!

To those who are lucky enough to have made his acquaintance, Fred is something of an icon. He is an incredibly friendly, curious, and affectionate cat who is always keen to generously dole out headbutts, receive pets, and to spend time in the presence of his many loved ones and/or fans. Sadly, after discovering a mass, Fred was very recently diagnosed with cancer, and he will require further treatment to make sure he gets the best outcomes possible. The veterinarians have strongly recommended that Fred undergo surgery to remove the mass as the next step.

We are planning to get him his surgery very soon to give Fred the best chance to fully recover. Since his diagnosis, Fred has also been receiving antibiotics and pain medication to help him with any potential difficulties he is facing, and he has responded very well to all of this. Despite his diagnosis, he remains the same sweet, loving, and purring feline as before, and he has continued to play and thrive. All of this has given us plenty of reason to be optimistic!

Unfortunately, Fred's treatment is going to be expensive, and so we are running this fundraiser to reach out to anybody who might be able to help contribute to reducing some of the major financial stress that this has placed on Josh. The money that we raise will be used to help cover the bills for Fred's treatment. These costs come from his visits to the veterinarian, his medications, and the costs of his surgery. If we do raise a large amount of money, anything beyond what is needed will be donated to the Kingston Humane Society.

We understand that money is tight for many people right now.
