Fundraiser for Frankies Memorial Nursery School
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
This month I’m celebrating my 21st birthday, to mark the occasion I am holding a fundraiser in aid of my daddy’s memorial school in Kenya.
Frankie's Memorial Nursery School was founded in 2005 by a close family friend Father PJ Mc Camphill during his ongoing work as a Missionary Priest in Kenya.
The Nursery was named in remembrance my daddy,Frankie McMullan following his passing on 2nd April 2004.
In Kenya, Primary Education is free to all children however,to gain entry to Primary Education you must pay to attend Nursery school for two years and gain your certificate.Therefor disadvantaged families who can not afford Nursery Education cannot attend Primary School as they do not have the entrance exam. Frankies Memorial Nursery School provides disadvantaged children with free Nursery Education for two years and gain their certificate so that they can attend primary education. To date 100% of children have received their Nursery Certificate and school placement, with some of the first students who received free nursery education from the school attending university.
Due to the devolved government, high registration and rising annual fees are now required alongside the provision of the 3 classrooms, 2 qualified Nursery Teachers, 1 Special Educational Needs Nursery Teacher, 1 blind Braille Teacher and 1 Cook. Parents are not charged any fees, alternatively they are encouraged to supply firewood and water to facilitate the cook preparing a mid-morning snack of porridge every day to the all children in attendance.
The school is ran solely through donations and the hard work of Fr PJ McCamphill.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated - Eiméar McMullan
