Fundraiser for the Balluzzo family

Donation protected
The Balluzzo family has experienced two major tragedies in the past two years. The first when Bryce Balluzzo became ill and spent one year in ICU battling leukemia. The second tragedy occurred this past weekend when Bryce‘s father Shawn Balluzzo was taken from us after suffering major injuries in a crash at Langley Speedway.  Shawn has always been a very proud man and always taking care of his family but after this weekend the family is going to need more help than ever.

At the very young age of 20, Bryce Balluzzo, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells.  She spent more than 6 months at CHKD’s Intensive Care Unit battling complications after finishing nearly seven weeks of chemotherapy treatments.  Bryce’s temperature spiked, indicating she had contracted a bacterial infection due to her compromised immune system. She has battled kidney failure and undergone dialysis, along with congestive heart failure. She then developed Roseola, a viral illness that led to encephalitis and swelling of the brain.  Bryce gradually improved over the months, even regaining her voice.  She is the youngest daughter of Shawn Balluzzo so toughness comes naturally.

Shawn was a 11 Time Langley Speedway Champion.  He was a very successful well know racer, but I am sure most would agree above all Shawn was a great family man to his wife, Terri, and their four children. Bryce, now 22, is being cared for by Terri and a team of nurses in their home. During the time Bryce was in the hospital Shawn built an addition to the family house to make the house user friendly for Bryce’s needs.

In the months and years to come there will an overwhelming amount of medical expenses unknown to Terri at this time. With the untimely passing of Shawn it is going to be difficult at best to maintain the family unit without Shawn’s presence.  We are asking for donations to help alleviate any financial burdens that may incur during this time.  All contributions are greatly appreciated.

I'm the intended recipient of the fundraiser's donations and the funds will be spent to alleviate any financial burdens that may incur during this time. Money will be withdrawn by me into my account and then distributed to the family via a cashiers check.
