Flowers Surgery!

Donation protected
A couple of weeks ago, our special needs (paralyzed) kitty FLOWER started to get very ill. We took her to a veterinarian and he said he thought she had pyometra. He wouldn't treat her until we took her to get an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis. So, we took her to an animal hospital to get an ultrasound. They confirmed that it was Pyometra and said that it was so bad that they would not suggest waiting, she would die!! It required immediate surgery!! With things the way they are, that hospital wasn't doing surgeries! Her vet couldn't do it for a few days either. Heather (My daughter) and I didn't know what to do because we were never going to put our baby girl down, there was no question about that! So, Heather and I drove around in the car for hours trying to figure out what to do and somehow we ended up at a Veterinary Hospital in Cheat Lake close to Maryland. Why there we don't know! (Gods hand?) After taking Flower in and doing multiple tests, they said that when Flower was stepped on by the person who threw her and her siblings in a box on the highway, it caused a huge hernia that actually pushed her organs all up into her chest wall. The Dr. said that if he operated without fixing the hernia she would die for sure! He couldn't believe she was even alive!! He said her lungs were so compressed, he couldn't imagine how she was even breathing! Anyway, we put her life into his and Gods hands. So, he fixed the hernia, then moved on to fix the pyometra. The Dr. told us that she had less than a 50% chance of making it after seeing her through the surgery. For 4 days she fought, almost dying twice because her lungs were taking in a vast amount of new air. But, she fought and our baby girl fooled them all. She survived getting stepped on as a kitten and getting her pelvis crushed, she survived a hernia that should have killed her and she survived majory surgery!! Now, the bills have flowed in and although her life was irreplaceable, we now will have to pay everyone. We could never have put her down!! We took her in when we knew it would be a challenge. We change diapers and everything it takes to keep her alive, we could not let her down this time either. Any donation you can make would be greatly appreciated. We can provide vet bills as proof of this need, if requested. Thank you and God bless!
