Alma & Makko's fundraiser for emergency vet bills

Please help if you can. We are pushed beyond all extremes right now, and with a number of emergencies recently, we are totally depleted emotionally, physically and financially. Rescue is not our jobs, we don't get paid for it, far from it in fact. We juggle our regular day jobs alongside helping animals because in reality we have to fund a lot of the food and vets bills ourselves. Every day another veterinary bill, another payment, new requests daily to find space for another needy cat who desperately needs help. All of this when we are also enduring incredible challenges in our own lives, especially with the devastation of one of my own Romanian dogs Malina being diagnosed with an aggressive cancer (she is fully insured) is just too much to bear. The pressure of having to fundraise on top of everything else is overwhelming. Stress and exhaustion readily give way to tears.

Evie arrived last Friday. Less than 24 hours later we were having to let her go. Just 5 years old and with incurable megaesophagus, likely due to the large mass found on her thymus, her esophagus was so badly damaged and too narrow that it could no longer pass food into her stomach. At less than 2 kg and skin and bone, food was instead collecting in her airway and lungs and surgery was not possible. She was 5, likely a dumped breeder's cat. We are heartbroken we were too late to save her. We now have another £400 to find for the veterinary fees in the 24 hours she was with us.

Older girl Marigold arrived last week too, living in Kings Cross, another longterm forgotten stray, who suffered a life of loneliness and struggle until one kind member of the public cared enough to seek help. She too is worryingly thing and so needed essential bloods to rule out anything sinister. Fortunately, her bloods are not too bad for an older cat and she is now receiving the very best care in foster with Ruth and Andy.

We also had the poor shutdown 2 year old tabby boy, who has endured no end of hell in his young life that he is scared of his own shadow, arrive on Monday from Essex. He was neutered, microchipped and is now decompressing in foster but it is so upsetting to see how defeated by life he is. He is covered in sores and has very little vision in his left eye due to an old traumatic injury.

Please help us raise the money needed for our outstanding invoices, totalling £950, to prevent our account being paused so we can continue to access vet care when needed. Every single donation helps.

Thank you in advance for your support.
