Fundraiser for Eckington Fire Victims, Washington DC
Donation protected
Early the morning of April 15th a devastating fire broke out in the Eckington neighborhood of Washington, D.C. that has displaced 10 households in the neighborhood. Many of the residents have lost everything in the fire, and will be displaced from their homes for a year to a year and a half.
Members of the Eckington community have started this fundraiser to help our neighbors rebuild the homes and their lives after this devastating event.
We have a total fundraising goal of $100,000, which would provide $10,000 per household.
The funds will be used by our neighbors to cover many unforeseen costs caused by the fire, including finding alternate accommodation for the duration of the rebuild, construction work in their homes and buying new belongings, including clothing, household items and furniture.
We ask for any support you can provide to help our neighbors get back on their feet!
